NeoArtesania is a project presented as a collection that aims to take a visual journey through the various construction and manufacturing techniques throughout the history of furniture design.
The selected production processes range from the most manual, artisanal, and slow paced methods to the most recent, fast, and efficient ones. Laser cutting on stainless steel, highlighting curves and technological shapes, creates a modern and futuristic look, while the woven rattan, with recognizable patterns we have seen throughout our lives in all kinds of furniture, combined with small human imperfections, evokes a sense of familiarity with the object.
The use of rattan and stainless steel creates a contrast of tones, reflections, and textures, making both elements generate a strong visual impact.
The pieces in this collection aim to preserve the legacy of furniture design history and the importance once given to handcrafted furniture made with detail and delicacy.
NeoArtesania calls for reflection on how furniture is consumed today, disregarding long lasting pieces valued for their quality and aesthetics in favor of low quality, mass produced items lacking personality.
